Steve Shore Community Catalyst Award

Begun by the North Carolina Community Health Center Association in 1988, the East Coast Migrant Stream Forum is an annual conference that offers skills-based training and workforce development opportunities to professionals in the agricultural worker and community health fields.

Through workshops and networking opportunities, attendees are exposed to the latest in workforce development skills training, clinical trends, agricultural worker-specific service delivery models, cutting-edge research, and legislative and funding initiatives.

Educational sessions are skills- and outcome-based, and the conference offers Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Nursing Education credits.

Sessions are organized into five major disciplines:

-Outreach/Lay Health/Community Health Workers

We would like to thank the Bureau of Primary Health Care, Health Resources and Services Administration and the National Center for Farmworker Health for providing base funding and support for the East Coast Migrant Stream Forum.

South Portland, ME 04106

NCCHCA has negotiated a discounted hotel room rate of $139 plus tax for single/double rooms. The hotel will honor this group rate until noon on September 18, 2018, or until the block is sold out, whichever occurs first. Reserve your room online or by calling (800) 560-7753 and referencing the East Coast Migrant Stream Forum.

The Tru by Hilton Portland, which is located next to the DoubleTree, has agreed to offer a very limited number of rooms to conference attendees for a $139 rate. Make your reservation online to secure a room at this special rate.

Through generous partnerships and support, NCCHCA is able to provide these essential training and professional development opportunities. Please help us continue the 31 year legacy of the East Coast Migrant Stream Forum by becoming a sponsor or exhibitor at this year's conference. Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are available through September 7, 2018.

As a tribute to NCCHCA's second Executive Director Steve Shore and his commitment to improving the health and well being of agricultural workers, NCCHCA honors the legacies of others who share this same vision through the Steve Shore Community Catalyst Award. Each year, through a nomination and selection process, NCCHCA identifies one individual, program, or organization whose work has incited positive change in the health and wellness among agricultural workers in an East Coast Migrant Stream Forum state.

Submit a nomination for the 2018 Steve Shore Community Catalyst Award by August 17, 2018.
