Policy & Advocacy |
North Carolina's community health centers are pivotal in providing primary care to underserved populations and in underserved areas. It is important that we educate and inform political leadership about the successes of community health centers so that lawmakers will understand who we are and the important role we play in our communities. It is also important to educate lawmakers on policies that may directly affect community health centers' ability to maintain and improve the health of their patients. People who use NC Community Health Centers pay in a variety of ways. Some are uninsured, some are covered by Medicaid or Medicare, and some are covered by private insurance. Regardless of a patient's ability to pay, though, NC CHCs treat everyone who walks in the door. NC Medicaid Transformation
